About The Facilitator
Edo-Abasi (Edo) Ukpong, born March 1962 in Uyo Nigeria. Educated at King’s College Lagos between September, 1973 and June, 1981. University of Ife Ile Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University) between 1981 and 1984 obtaining a Bachelor of Laws degree (2nd Class Upper). The Nigerian Law School, 1984 to I985 and enrolled as a Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria July 1985. After a brief stint (1986-1987) as a Law Lecturer at the University of Uyo he settled down in Lagos as a Commercial Law Practitioner and co-founded the firm Ukpong & Omotoso now CLP LEGAL where he is the Managing Partner.
Edo is a proud AkwaIbomite, from Ikono and a community leader in good standing and holds the traditional title of Obong Ifiok Ikono. He is a well-exposed Nigerian, reputed for his objectivity on national issues and quest for the development of society for the benefit of all. He is a social activist and essayist and his opinion pieces on topical national issues have been published in Nigeria’s leading newspapers, collated, and published in book form under the title ‘Swimming Against The Tide’. A successful and reputable commercial law practitioner, he is also the Chairman of RAK UNITY PETROLEUM PLC, a director of many reputable international companies and member of the National Executive Council of The Nigerian Conservation Foundation.
He is happily married and blessed with three children.
